My Phonebook

I used to store all my contacts details in a special address book, just to be organised. I don’t like to ask others for other people’s contact details, so having my own is definitely a good idea. Not too long ago, I have a physical phonebook and it’s full of contact details of my families, friends and business contacts. Unfortunately, the book has one main limitation. The pages will run out when you added more contacts. Not to mention the possibility of the book getting lost. And to make a copy of the book is simply time consuming.

Then came the mobile phone and its phonebook application.

Using the built-in phone application, I can virtually stored thousands of names (with detailed information) of anybody and can be retrieved instantly everytime you use your mobile phone. Making copies of the phonebook is possible too, provided if you lost your phone, you have to buy the same brand.

Ever since I acclimatised myself with the phone’s phonebook, I have slightly changed my habit. Instead of keeping all contacts (regardless of whether I’m still in contact with that particular person), I only kept contacts that I’m keeping in touch with within the last 6 months. If more than 6 months and I’m still not in contact with him/her, I removed the details. Based from my experiences, if no contact between us in more than 6 months, there will be no future contact and best to remove the details.

How about you? Do you keep all your contact details, say, 10 years ago? Lemme know, please.
