Heavy Traffic at Duke Highway

It was surreal driving at the Duke yesterday. The normally deserted Duke highway, was quite full with cars. Is it because people still “beraya” at open houses? Or is it the sign of things to come? My brother said this could stretch until next week, which is the final week before the end of the month-long Raya Puasa celebration.

People normally avoided Duke for obvious reasons. The toll charges of RM2.00 one-way is way too expensive for most people. But taking into account that most of Duke’s highway are elevated, the cost of building it obviously more expensive than the normal roads, hence the high toll rate.

To me, Duke is a godsend. I can now bypass KL in order to go to Setiawangsa. And coming from USJ Subang Jaya, it only takes 30 minutes point-to-point. It might be expensive to use, but it’s convenient. I guess paying RM4.30 to travel to Setiawangsa for the sake of convenient, is no problem for me. It beats trapping in the Federal Highway traffic jam for 2 hours, anytime.
