I’ve been using my current ‘temporary’ phone (a small Nokia with a green screen) for nearly 6 months now since I sold off my Nokia E72. I’ve been looking at the internet for some new technologies in mobile design. I think a new smartphone is the right reward for me now after sufferig for so long using a ‘caplang’ phone.
I’m still looking for the best one. The one that will fit into my lifestyle. I don’t want a phone that I have to adapt to, and instead the phone must be flexible enough to adapt mine.
I’m spoilt for choices. There are so many brands and so many OS in the market now. So, how do I choose? Should I go for the traditional Symbian (Nokia), or the crowd’s favorite iOS? Or maybe Android? Hey, that’s Windows Mobile 7 looks good too!
I’m quite a brand conscious too. I used to offer my allegiance to Nokia, which makes the bulk of my previous phones. But I’m using everything Apple now. But hey, that new Samsung Galaxy S II looks kinda nice. Heck, HTC makes good and solid phones! I’m lost in translation.
The ideal phone must have the following:
- Big enough screen to look at all the information and small enough to be held comfortably in my hand;
- Powerful to open all the latest applications (a dualcore processor might be a good idea);
- Light enough to carry it around and best if it fits in my jeans pockets;
- Easy to use with mobile internet access, with always-on Facebook, Twitter, emails and chat feeds;
- Priced between RM1,000 to RM1,500 (in my opinion, it’s not feasible to buy a RM2k phone that you’ll use for 6 months);
- Nice camera (at least a 5mp);
- Not get obsolete too fast.
