YTL’s Yes is fast, but disappointing to use…

I must admit that since I subscribed to YTL’s Yes 4G broadband, the access speed is awesome! Viewing youtube is always a pleasure, pages load faster and viewing porn will never be the same again.

Anyway, since Yes is a prepaid service, it’s good to always monitor your usage, as you never knew when suddenly your internet got cut off due to insufficient credit.

Yes makes the experience to always check your credit balance, difficult. When accessing its website, the information given is, let’s say, half-hearted. I was wondering whether Yes wanted us to use their internet service without bothering about the cost? Are you kidding me, Yes?

Information is outdated

Like the time when I wanted to check how much data I have use ( I didn’t even once use the voice and SMS service). It stated that I have used 3.08 Mb of data. But I wanna know, how much more data that I can use with a credit of RM30, for example.

I’m getting tired of playing this guessing games. For the time being, I’m sticking to my P1 4G modem (at home) and P1 W1GGY (on the road) as long as I can (even though P1’s service is nothing to shout about, except their excellent customer service).

Have a productive day, guys!

Hotlink Hot Ticket (Internet)

I’ve been hunting down this Hot Ticket ever since I got to know about it last month. Unlike the normal Hot Ticket that can be used to make calls and send messages, the Hot Ticket Internet can only be used to access the internet using our mobile phones. Once our mobiles are connected to the net, we can use all the applications in the phones (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Hi5 and others).

The ticket is so difficult to find in KL and it’s only my luck to find one in Penang, during my trip there.

Front of the Hot Ticket

I can’t find much information about this ticket in Maxis’ site, and I don’t know why. Maxis should promote this kind of tickets more in order to reach a wider users. Or maybe Maxis wanted to push the prepaid mobile internet can that be subscribed through Maxis prepaid’s *100# option?

Back of the Hot Ticket

Whatever the reasons, I’m using the Hot Ticket Internet now. It cost me RM20 for a 7 days access period, with a maximum of 1.5Gb data limit.

But after using it for 7 days, I found out that I still have 1.3Gb unutilised data that I can’t use, as the 7-day access has expired. Which means that I only used up 200Mb of data during the 7 days period, and that includes downloading apps from Ovi.com.

So, the question is, should I use the RM20/7days/1.5Gb Hot Ticket Internet, or stick with the RM18/14days/100Mb plan accessible through Maxis prepaid menu?

Too many choices, too little money…
