Liverpool FC’s 3rd Kit – 2011/2012 season

New 3rd kit

Honestly, LFC’s 3rd jerseys are getting weirder each season. From a simple design like a training kit till the new 3rd ones. But the design sort of grows on you, and the more you look at it, the better it gets. But I just hates the blue essence on it. Make the kit looks like a Man City shirt.

As per liverpoolfc.com:

Liverpool FC and adidas have turned the clock back almost 120 years for the inspiration behind the brand new 3rd kit with the inclusion of Cyan Blue a throwback to Liverpool FC’s first ever home kit back in 1892 which incorporated alternate white and blue halves.

The design inspiration is taken from the classic tracksuit tops worn by the famous Liverpool teams of the mid 1980s, this brand new kit presents a modern look whilst giving a nostalgic nod to LFC’s illustrious past.

The kit is available for pre-orders now at LFC and kitbag, and will be officially launched on 14 July 2011.

FYI, LFC will wear their current home jersey until the end of 11/12 season.

Liverpool Away Kit 2011/2012 Revealed!

As promised, Liverpool FC has revealed the away kit for its 2011/2012 season today. It will be up for an official revealing on May 12 and currently LFC is accepting pre-orders for the kit.

Thanks to liverpoolfc.com for the image

The shirt looks black in photos, but actually it’s solid grey with silver (the 3-stripes, crest and sponsor’s logo) and red trimmings.

In my opinion, the shirt looks stunning! I bet a lot of non-LFC supporters will buy this shirt for their collection. The shirt is simple, purposeful and elegant. Just like Liverpool FC.

I loike!

England Special Edition Shirt 10/11 – Vermillion/Ruby Red/White

I bought this shirt off kitbag.com for a measly £15.00 (RM100 after conversion, plus shipping). This shirt is similar with England’s away shirt, minus the red England crest and red Umbro logo. Since I’ve already got the England ‘home’ shirt, it’s a no-brainer to get the away one.

The shirt looks redder in real life

This red ‘away’ England shirt is sold exclusively at kitbag.com, and I managed to get one in my size. The last time I checked, all the shirts are sold out.

Red England crest

The fitting of this shirt is a bit funny. I bought the largest size available for Umbro (which is size 58), but funny enough, the sleeves area is tighter than usual. My yardstick is the England ‘home’ shirt, and comparing the two is like comparing two different makes of shirts. Is it intentionally for Umbro to make the ‘away’ shirt a bit tighter, in order to differentiate between the two?

Red Umbro logo

The Umbro logo is stitched in red to go along with the red theme. It makes the logo looks invisible.

Proudly tailored in the UK

Even though the fitting of this shirt is tighter, overall the shirt suits me fine. But I wish that the upper arm area is looser, so that I can move my arms quite freely.

Sales tag and washing label

This shirt is probably the best shirt I bought this year. I like the material, the colour, the overall fitting (except for the sleeves) and the price. Because of the way the ventilation holes are positioned, I hardly breaks any sweat in the shirt. Bravo to Umbro!

Chelsea FC Away Shirt 09/10

Recently kitbag.com has some out-of-season shirts for sale, and I decided to get the Chelsea away shirt from season 2009/2010 to add to my growing collection. The shirt is predominantly dark navy with a neon yellow highlight.

From Adidas:

The new Chelsea away kit for 2009/10 uses a tonal hoop in dark navy and new navy with a neon yellow highlight for the adidas 3 stripes, tipping on the collar and sleeves, giving a structured, stylish finish to the shirt. Engineered mesh in the fabric on the front of the shirt, coupled with the 3D Formotion cut allows complete freedom of movement. Waffled Climacool fabric and mesh paneling across major sweat zones will increase comfort and ensure players remain cool and dry. The shirt also has a new collar design tipped in neon yellow so giving a “v” neck impression with the Chelsea FC lion printed on the back of the neck.

Crew neck

The shirt looks nice with its dark colour, but the neon yellow highlight is something you have to get used to. The neon yellow is really visible from a distance, and at night too!

Authentic Chelsea FC badge on right chest

The Chelsea FC crest follows the same neon yellow highlight, which makes the crest looks different.

Chelsea FC by Adidas

Still made by Adidas since 2006. The contract will expires in 2011, and there’s a possibility that Nike will take over.

Shirt sponsor is still by Samsung

The shirt sponsor for CFC is still Samsung since 2007.

Shirt label

The shirt is made in China (some Adidas are made in Indonesia and Thailand). The size that I get is 5XL (yes, 5XL!), and according to kitbag.com, sizes are available up to 8XL (they called it outsize). Well, football supporters didn’t come in one size only and CFC is sensitive enough to cater its shirt for all the big sizers.

Basically 5XL is too big for me. I can’t really gauge the sizing as I never bought any shirt larger than 3XL. Some shirts are also different in term of sizing. I think 3XL or 4XL will suit me fine, considering the cutting of CFC shirt is a bit loose.

Ventilated CLIMACOOL® keeps me dry and comfortable

Climacool is cool!

100% polyester engineered

Fabric is 100% made from polyester (it’s not the recycle type like Man United’s shirt).

The lion logo at the back of neck

The lion logo is rather cool feature.

Adidas tag

BTW, if you must know, I bought the shirt online through kitbag.com for £10.00 (about RM80 including postage).
